How to Compress Images Without Losing Visible Quality

Updated July 20, 2026

Pick the right format

JPG is ideal for photographs. WEBP typically produces files 25-35% smaller than JPG at the same visual quality and is supported by every modern browser. PNG is lossless — use it for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges or transparency.

How low can quality go?

For photos, quality 70-80 is the sweet spot: artifacts are essentially invisible at normal viewing sizes while file size drops dramatically. Below 50, JPEG blocking becomes noticeable.

Always compare the result preview against the original before downloading a whole batch.

Batch workflows

Drop up to 25 images at once, choose a format and quality, and download everything as a ZIP. Files that fail (unsupported formats, corrupted data) are reported individually — successful files are never blocked by a single failure.
